Brewsday Tuesday: The Love
The second of six beers I picked up from Market Square Liquors was the Love by Starr Hill Brewery. I nabbed it for $2.00 from the bargain table and figured I have nothing to lose. Salut!
Name: The Love
Brewed by: Starr Hill Brewery
Location: Crozet, VA
Style/ABV: Hefeweizen / 4.6%
Appearance: Pours a hazy deep orange gold with an impressive fluffy three finger head. Slowly fades to a thin layer. Nice lacing is present in the glass.
Smell: Wheat, grass, spices and some orange citrus notes at the end.
Taste: The taste follows the smell. A spicy opening with hints of cloves that moves into yeasty flavors that closes with some nice citrus flavors. The spicy clove notes make a reappearance at the end. No bitterness is noted in this beer.
Mouthfeel: Light with low carbonation.
Overall: This is a good Hefeweizen and well worth a try.
Final Grade: B+

Nice. I am visiting nearby, and former home of Starr Hill, Charlottesville, VA, right now.
