Brewsday Tuesday: Estrella Damm
I was in the package store this evening looking for something interesting. Walking back towards the register I noticed a stack of Estrella Damm. The last time I had that beer was when I was in Barcelona, Spain in 2000. It was selling for $3.99 a six pack and I decided to grab some based upon sheer nostalgia. Here are my thoughts.
Name: Estrella Damm
Brewed by: Damm S.A.
Location: Barcelona, Spain
Style/ABV: American Adjunct Lager / 5.2%
Appearance: Pours a bright straw yellow with a three finger fluffy white head that slowly disappears . A decent amount of lacing is present as the beer is consumed.
Smell: Some bready malts and a hint of grass.
Taste: Bready malts, grass in the middle with a bitter dry finish.
Mouthfeel: Light body with heavy carbonation.
Overall: This beer brought back memories of Barcelona, Spain. I had an amazing time on that trip, and consumed many of these beers within the city. Estrella Damm is a decent beer and would be perfect on a hot day. I would not hesitate to grab another six pack at the discount price of $3.99.
Final Grade: C
