Brewsday Tuesday: Narragansett Bock
I went to Orlando, Florida, this morning for work and forgot to put the final beer from Anyaa in the fridge. By the time I got home it was too late to get it chilled. I was disappointed, but the back-up beer did not disappoint.
Name: Narragansett Bock
Brewed by: Narragansett Brewing Co.
Location: Providence, RI
Style/ABV: Helles Bock / 6.5%
Appearance: Pours a rich copper with a two finger cream head. It recedes but is present throughout. Great lacing is present.
Smell: Bready malts move into cut grass earthiness. Some carmels and green apple are also present. Very fresh.
Taste: Opens with some malt sweetness, the grassy earthiness comes in behind and finishes with some nice hop bitterness that lingers. Once that disappears carmel sweetness lingers. More please, now!
Mouthfeel: Creamy. Medium body with low carbonation.
Overall: The beer with the ram on the can is Spring in liquid form. It is fresh, earthy, and complex. I am going to have to pick up a couple of more six pack before they go away.
Final Grade: A
