A Long Busy Week

This week Becky has been away at a conference in Jacksonville.  While she has been living out of a hotel room and listening to miserable AP Psycology presentations I played single dad.  It was hard.

I was able to get them dressed, fed, bathed and entertained but not much else.  Making dinner with two kids hanging on my legs was not easy and any attempt at working in the yard was over before it began.

The first day was the hardest but after that we got in a routine.  As soon as I walked in the door everynight we had dinner and then played outside for a little while.  Bath and popsicles followed then a little bit of Sesame Street and bed time.  Julia was usually out by 8:30 p.m. and Mason followed a half-hour later.  By the time they were asleep I was ready to follow.

Charlotte helped me out a lot during the week by keeping Mason on Monday and picking him up from big boy school around 3:00 p.m.  That was a big help because it let me only have to worry about grabbing Jules from Miss Cherrie’s after work.  Steve also pitched in and kept Mason for a few hours on Friday while Charlotte was at the doctors.

For all the challenges the week presented it was fun and we had a good week.  I enjoyed having the little ones to myself, but I am happy Becky came home this afternoon.
