‘Noles Hang on to Beat Deacons
After melting down against Clemson on Saturday the ‘Noles were 8-6 heading into their second to last ACC game. With their weak out of conference schedule and the ACC having a down year FSU is on the bubble and needed a win to put them in a better position to make the NCAA Tournament for a second straight season.
I was looking forward to the Wake Forest v. Florida State game all afternoon. Wake is one of the better offensive team in the conference while FSU is the best defensive team. I was curious to see which team would be able to dictate the tempo of the game.
In the end Florida State was able to control the game and won 51-47. The game was not without drama as the ‘Noles did their best to squander the victory in the closing minute of the game. Thankfully freshman guard Michael Snaer was clutch and buried two free throws with 4 second left to put the game out of reach.
With the win the ‘Noles can finish no worse than 9-7 in ACC play. I think they will take care of business down in Coral Gables on Saturday, wind up 10-6 and be a 7 or 8 seed in the tournament when the brackets are released next Sunday night. As long as they avoid the dreaded 5 seed I’ll be fine with whoever and wherever they play!
