Painting Moulding
Today was a home improvement Saturday. I woke up early and went to Edenfield’s downtown to get some items I needed to recaulk the tub in the bathroom. Jackson went along for the ride.
Once I got home I tore out all the old caulking in the tub and used a razor blade to make sure all of the old bit were gone. I then filled it up with water and applied the new caulking. I also replaced the two splash guards on the ends of the tub that keep water from going onto the floor.
After that project was done I started painting all of the moulding in the bedroom white. I painted the door jambs, the baseboards and the window casings. I was happy since I did not get any of the white paint on the red walls or our wood floors. I do not use the blue painters tape or any edger but rather a steady hand when I paint. All of those other options are worthless and usally make a larger mess than they are made to prevent. It took me most of the day to do this and by later afternoon I had finished. All I have to do next weekend is get some quarter round, paint it and lay it down in front of Beck’s closet. After that our bedroom will be done!
I then cleaned up the house. I swept all the floors and vacuumed the dining room rug and changed the cats litter box. I also did three loads of wash and put those up. By 8:00 that evening I was exhausted. Tomorrow I have to tackle painting the dining room mouldings and make up a bach of blackberry jelly for my neighbor.
